Announcements:
- Class meeting time is Tuesday, 8:00-10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).

- Enrollment will not be accepted after Week 3. You must be enrolled in the UF Classics distance-learning graduate program to take this class.
Textbooks:
- Required: Virgil: Eclogues, by Wendell Clausen, Clarendon Press (Oxford), 1994. (By all means, please buy the paperback version.)
- Recommended:
Virgil: Georgics, by R.A.B. Mynors, Clarendon Press (Oxford), 1990. (Another commentary on the Georgics will suffice, if this one is prohibitively expensive.)
- There will also be secondary readings posted in e-reserves (stay tuned for more information).
- for your reference, see the Virgil website: http://virgil.org
Grading: Grades will be based on class participation, 2 translation exams, and a short review of a secondary article(s) presented to the class.
