Textbooks:
1. An Introduction to Roman Religion, by John Scheid; available at Amazon.com. (ISBN: 0-253-21660-5.)
2. Religions of Rome: Volume 2, A Sourcebook, by Mary Beard, John North, and Simon Price; also available at Amazon.com.
Note that we are not using Volume 1 of Religions of Rome. I prefer the category-based approach of Scheid to the chronological approach of Religions Volume I. Also, time permitting, we will supplement our readings with some Latin excerpts, such as passages from Ovid's Fasti (available online at the Latin Library).
Grading: your grade will be based as follows on participation in weekly class 'meetings', a short class presentation on a related topic, and a research paper.
