Announcement 8/28/05: Please see the Schedule page for which articles have been claimed by whom [in green].  Also, the e-reserves are still 'in progress' - some items may not be there yet.  I have added a page containing the e-reserves items, to help you select your reports, and in case you have access to a research library.  The link is on the sidebar to the left.

 

Important earlier announcements:

- Class meeting time is Thursday, 8:00-10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).

- Please make sure you are signed up for the right section. Section 4153 ('on-campus') is for in-state students, and section 4150 ('web') is for out-of-state students. 

- Enrollment will not be accepted after Week 3. You must be enrolled in the UF Classics distance-learning graduate program to take this class.

  e-reserves: Articles and book chapters are being put on electronic reserve for this course.  The two short presentations which you are required to give will be based on the e-reserve materials.  (See the Schedule page for more details.)  Here is the link for e-reserves.  You will need your Gatorlink ID and password to log in, then do a search on the instructor name to find the e-reserves for this course.  Grading: your grade will be based as follows on weekly seminar discussions, two short presentations on articles, and a research paper.  Participation in the weekly discussions is required.

   1. Weekly seminar discussions (via WebCT discussion board): 40%

   2. Two short presentations (via WebCT discussion board): 2 x 15% = 30%

   3. Research paper: 30%

   90-100     A

   88-89       B+

   80-87       B

   78-79       C+

   70-77       C

   68-69       D+

   60-67       D
