Announcements:

- Tentative class meeting time is Wednesday, 8:00-10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).  At the first class meeting (January 9), there will be a discussion and vote on the permanent meeting time. 

- Registering for class: in-state students, please contact the Classics office for the section number (distance@classics.ufl.edu).  Out-of-state students, please register through DoCE (see link at left).

- The registration deadline is January 11 for DoCE; the deadline for ISIS is January 4 (drop-add deadline Jan. 11). You must be enrolled in the UF Classics distance-learning graduate program to take this class.

 Grading: your grade will be based as follows on participation in weekly class 'meetings', and 3 5-page essays, one written after each section of the class.

   1. Participation in weekly class meetings: 25%

   2. Section I (Greek Philosophy) essay: 25%

   3.  Section II (Hellenistic Philosophy) essay: 25%

   4. Section III (Roman Philosophy) essay: 25%

 

 Grading scale:

   90-100     A

   88-89       B+

   80-87       B

   78-79       C+

   70-77       C

   68-69       D+

   60-67       D

   0-59         F
