| The Cambridge Program is one of the oldest and most prestigious overseas programs offered at the University of Florida. A brief description of the 1998 Cambridge Program is provided at this WebSite as well as comprehensive Pre-Travel & Travel Guidelines (see below). For more personalized information interested students are invited to attend our Cambridge Orientation Meetings (flyers are posted around campus). Participants receive 9 upper division credits {4000-level}: EITHER 9 credits of British History {HIS 4956}; OR: 6 credits British History {HIS 4956} plus 3 credits British Literature {ENC 4956}. Students are required to select the option of their choice on their application form prior to departure on the program. Changing this option at a later date is extremely difficult and not encouraged. As the UF Undergraduate Catalogue indicates, these credits should be approved by the Department of History Undergraduate Coordinator. Finally, please note that the Cambridge grades are not calculated into your GPA, instead, the credits, for University purposes, are treated as Pass/Fail. That said, virtually all departments and colleges include the Cambridge grade in most considerations for awards, fellowships, and other forms of recognition (e.g., Honors, Highest Honors, and most all CLAS Awards). Finally, students are strongly urged to read and download the Cambridge Program Guidelines Booklet. Participation in the Cambridge Program assumes and requires that all participating students have read, understood, and accepted the guidelines, restrictions, and requirements. For further information, please consult with the Office of International Studies or contact the e-mail address below. |
