My current research has two
main directions: 1) social dimensions of urban processes and 2)
families over the lifecourse. I am currently examining the
relationship between historic preservation, segregation, and 20th
century urban change in Charleston, South Carolina. I recently
began developing a related study that will examine social and spatial
change in Central Florida. In addition, I am examining the
relationship between family transitions and life course
change in later midlife. I have received research funding from
the National Science Foundation, the National Institute on Aging, the
Center for Retirement Research (Boston College) and the School of
Natural Resources and the Environment (UF).
