About Me
My research interests include aging and the life course, sociology of the family, social demography, urban sociology and residential segregation. Ongoing research projects include:
- examining 20th century urban change in
- examining the
relationship between family transitions and life
course
change in later midlife using data from the Health and Retirement
Study;
- and conducting a pilot study of Community and Well-Being based
in Central Florida.
I have received
research funding
from the National Science Foundation,
the National Institute on Aging,
the Center
for Retirement Research (
I currently teach Urban
Sociology, Social Inequality and Methods of Social Research at
the undergraduate level and Sociology of Aging and the Life Course at
the graduate level.
