Areas of Interest: Demography of Health and Aging, Quantitative Methodology and Data Analysis

My current research focuses on health and long-term care among the older population. I am currently developing dynamic conceptual and analytical models of functional health. Specific foci of this research program include projects that examine salient longitudinal patterns of disability, cohort variation in functional health, determinants of recovery from disability, and ethnoracial differences in disablement and long-term care arrangements. I teach courses in methods of social research, medical sociology, and sociology of aging.
