Directions
for using TURNITIN to submit papers electronically.
You should by now have received an email
message at your ufl.edu address, confirming your enrollment in the UF
"Turnitin" Program. This is necessary so that you can submit your paper
electronically by midnight, April 19 (Tuesday). Please remember that
you will also need to turn in a hard copy in class that same day.
There are directions on accessing the program at
http://www.turnitin.com/static/pdf/tii_student_qs.pdf
If you've used the
program
before, enter your user id (your UF email) and your Turnitin
password. This will take you to a page where you will see other courses
you may have registered for. Click on the "Enroll in a Class" tab and
then enter the Class ID and password that you received by email.
When you hit "submit," you will go to a page which shows you enrolled
in "Judaism and
Politics - Spring 2011." Click on that and it will take you to
the page where
you can upload your paper.
If you've never used the program,
click on the "New User" button in the upper right. This will walk you
through the process of registering.
For the first step, select "student" as new user type and hit the
"next" button.
This will take you to course enrollment page. In the email, I
provided you with the Class ID and the password.
Enter them as indicated and then hit "next".
The next page will ask for your email address which will become
your User ID for Turnitin. Hit "next."
Create your personal password. This will enable you--and only
you--to access your grade once it is posted. Hit "next".
Select a secret question, put in the answer, and hit "next".
(This will help you if you forget your personal password.)
You're then asked to enter your first and last name. Do so and
hit "next."
You must then agree with the User Agreement. This gives me 10% of
your future earnings. I deserve it. Hit "next."
This finally brings you to the finish. Tell it to close the
Wizard and it will take you to the class page from which you can find
the Assignment and upload your paper. Click on "Judaism and Politics
2008" and then on the Research Paper
assignment. When you click on "submit," you will be guided through the
process of submitting your paper.
You have to enter a paper title AND
tell the system where to find the file you want to upload. Once the
file is uploaded, make sure and print out your receipt and keep the
email receipt they will send you. This is proof that your paper was
submitted on time.
Even with the receipt, it takes some time for the paper to show
up so don't panic. Eventually, your paper will show up by title in the
assignment list. You can click on the title to see your paper or
download a copy by clicking on the link in the "contents" column.
This process should NOT be used to submit rough drafts for my comments.
For that, use email and give me a hard copy in class.
I strongly urge you to look at this site now.You want
to be sure that you are registered and can navigate it before the last
minute. You'll also find some useful information on how to avoid
inadvertent plagiarism. Be warned.
