Content
This course aims to:
Introduce you (1)
to earth materials (minerals and rocks) and describe their classification and
properties; (2) to processes that occur on the earth surface, e.g.
hydrogeology, glaciers, and winds; (3) to marine geology, particularly of the
coasts; 4) to the earth's interior and processes that occur there, e.g.
earthquakes; and (5) tie all of these seemingly
disparate facts and observations into one unifying paradigm-plate tectonics.
