Undergraduate Scholarships
The following scholarships are for students currently enrolled at the University of Florida. Only one completed application needs to be submitted and you will automatically be considered for all scholarships you qualify for that are listed below in this Undergraduate Scholarships section. Undergraduate applications must be submitted electronically using the form below before 5pm on February 1 each year. The Scholarships are awarded in the Spring and the funds are available at the beginning of the following fall term, after registration. William Carleton Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Juniors majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences who have completed at least 48 credit hours of undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. - Award:
One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
CLAS Dean's Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Juniors majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences who have completed at least 48 credit hours of undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. - Award:
One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Gerson Jewish Studies Scholarship
- Eligibility:
This is a need-based scholarship for students engaged in coursework or pursuing a research interest in Jewish Studies. Preference will be given to need-based students and those who have completed at least 30 credit hours at UF. - Award:
One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Gorenberg Family Undergraduate Award
- Eligibility:
CLAS undergraduates with demonstrated financial need - Award:
One $1,000 award given annually in the spring
W. W. Massey Sr. Presidential Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Liberal Arts and Sciences undergraduates pursuing goals and objectives in the education and business environment, who have been recognized as National Merit or National Achievement Scholars in high school or are among those who qualify as Honors students at the University of Florida. - Award:
Up to 10 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Charles Vincent & Heidi Cole McLaughlin Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Awarded to exceptional students majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences, based on academic record. Preference will be given to students who have completed at least 48 credit hours at UF. - Award:
Up to 50 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Hazen E. Nutter Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Undergraduates majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences who have strong academic records and active involvement in extracurricular activities. - Award:
Up to 20 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Herbert & Edith Peterson Scholarship
- Eligibility:
Juniors majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences who have completed at least 48 credit hours of undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. - Award:
One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
Susan Hitzler Schell Scholarship
- Eligibility:
For undergraduates who are majoring in Liberal Arts and Sciences and who have completed at least 48 credit hours of undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. Preference is given to students not simultaneously receiving an athletic scholarship. - Award:
One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually in the spring.
J. Peter Sones Scholarship
- Eligibility:
For undergraduates who are enrolled in pre-med courses at UF and are majoring in one of the liberal arts (preferably not a science). Students should have a GPA of 3.8 or above. - Value:
Up to three scholarships of $1,000 awarded annually in the spring.
Graduate Scholarships
Every fall, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) awards approximately fifteen, one-semester dissertation fellowships to deserving graduate students whose projects are judged by the selection committee to be highly meritorious. Successful applicants receive a stipend and paid tuition during the following spring or summer semester.
