The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) was established in 1909 and serves as the core of academic life, focusing on providing students with knowledge and training in critical thinking and reasoning so graduates will have the skills to undertake leadership positions in a global society.
As UF’s largest college, we take pride in teaching your children who make up our 12,000 undergraduates and 2,000 graduate students. We offer a wider variety of courses and programs than any other college with more than 42 majors and 42 minors through 23 departments, four academic programs and five centers. The college provides numerous need- and merit-based scholarships, strong academic and career advising, plentiful study abroad and internship opportunities, Honors Programs, and combined bachelor/master’s degree programs.
