Rothman Chair of Humanities Search Committee
Minutes – September 19, 2007
Purpose of Meeting: To narrow a list of applicants to possible candidates for the position of Director of the Rothman Center of Humanities and the Public Sphere.
- Present: William Link (Chair), Stephanie Y. Evans, Vasu Narayanan, Ann Wehmeyer, David Leverenz, Jack Kugelmass, Robert D'Amico, James R. Mueller
- In Attendance: Heather Bryson, Rothman Search Secretary
- The Chair opened the meeting at 2 p.m. and welcomed the Committee.
- The Agenda which had been sent out in advance was approved.
- The Committee discussed the priorities by which they planned to assess the applicants: scholarship, administrative experience, fund raising experience, etc.
- The Committee agreed to move on to creating a list of possible candidates and a full discussion followed.
- The Chair established a time table and the committee discussed a method by which the second round of the search process should proceed. By the close of the meeting, all present were in agreement and a tentative schedule was put into place.
