UF Libraries to Host Jewish Literature Appreciation Series This Fall

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida libraries is hosting a five-part reading and discussion series this fall, Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature—Identity and Imagination, exploring Jewish literature and culture through scholar-led discussions of contemporary and classic books.
Based on a common theme—the father and daughter relationship—the reading group’s discussions will be led by Associate Professor of English Andrew Gordon, a scholar of Jewish-American fiction. The series, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by UF’s Center for Jewish Studies and Hillel Jewish student center. Funding was provided by a grant from the American Library Association and Nextbook.
“We are delighted to have been chosen to host this unique series that will allow members of the Gainesville community to come together to discuss themes in Jewish literature with the help of a well-qualified scholar,” said Chelsea Dinsmore, program organizer and UF International Documents Librarian.
Each discussion will be held at the Hillel library in Norman H. Lipoff Hall, located at 2020 W. University Ave., followed by a reception.
