2009 Convocation

Organized by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Fall Convocation honors outstanding UF students and faculty. At the ceremony, National Merit, National Achievement, Lombardi Scholars, Community College Transfer Scholars and CLAS Scholars are recognized. The majority of students recognized are Anderson Scholars who maintain at least a 3.87 grade point average during their first four consecutive semesters at UF. This recognition is not limited to students in CLAS, students from every college have been named Anderson Scholars.
Anderson Scholars are named in honor of James Anderson, the first dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, formed in 1909.

Parking
Please view the campus parking map to see which lots are within walking distance of the University Auditorium. A decal is not required to park in most restricted areas on campus after 4:30 pm, but be sure to check signage and never park in a service drive, reserved space or disabled person parking space without the proper decal or permit. Handicap parking is available along the service drive just south of the University Auditorium. Off-campus parking is also available.

Late RSVP
Late RSVPs will be accepted until Thursday, October 22, at noon. RSVP here. Your name will not be read aloud unless you RSVP that you plan to attend.
You are unable to attend
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, please pick up your award in the CLAS Dean's Office within the month following the Convocation ceremony. The office is located at 2014 Turlington Hall and the office hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday.
The reception
A reception for convocation attendees will be held prior to the ceremony from 4:30pm - 5:15pm in the Keene Faculty Center which is located at 103 Dauer Hall.
Your attire
Business casual is recommended. No academic regalia is required for students or for faculty and administrators.
Significant weather events
Any changes to the ceremony time or location due to significant weather events (such as hurricanes) will be posted on this website with as much notice as possible.
