The Alice M. Zirger Scholarship

Established in memory of Mrs. Zirger by her family in 1982, the Alice M. Zirger Scholarship is awarded each year to the female student in Asian Studies who best exemplifies Mrs. Zirger’s love of the languages and cultures of Asia, and commitment to life-long learning. The award is for one year and recipients is eligible to reapply for a second year.

Applications are invited from female students of Asian Studies with above-average academic records in the minor or major program in Asian Studies.  Applicants  must also be completing or have completed their second-year in an Asian language, preference is given to non-traditional students (students who resume their college studies after some years of absence). The deadline for the application this year is March 14, 2008.
