National Consortium for Teaching About Asia: UF SeminarsAcademic Year 2007-2008 Seminar, dates are Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, Mar. 22, and Apr. 19. Like the summer course, this seminar will give middle and high school teachers an overview of Asian history, culture, politics, and art. However, the academic year course runs over 8 months, meeting one Saturday per month. Participants will produce a lesson plan for use in their classrooms, and learn how to implement Asia into their varied curricula. Benefits for teachers include college credit or in-service points, honoraria, and funding for library materials. Click here for web resources for teaching about East Asia.
