2004-2005 Lessons Plans

Lessons due for 2004-2005 Florida Seminar for Teaching on Asia and general info:

• Your name, the grade and subject you teach at the top
• Lesson appropriate to your classroom (grade-level and subject area)
• Sunshine State Standards included at the top of the lesson.
• 28 copies of your lesson (for you, your colleagues, Joe, NCTA and myself)
• And references or materials used should be listed in a bibliography
• If a reference is long, please feel free to cite it instead of including a copy
• CD, floppy or emailed version of your lesson plan. I prefer Word, as most teachers can open that program. If you have a website where the lesson will be posted, that will be acceptable too.

Be prepared to speak in regards to your lesson, the topics it addresses, how it will engage your students (the type of students you have), and to answer any brief questions from your colleagues. Please bear in mind each presentation will be brief, as all need to be discussed at this session.

We will be setting the date for the follow-up seminar for fall 2005. Please bring with you any information as to when possible conferences are that you will be attending, school holidays you know of, etc. When we set the date for the follow-up we really try to not move it. The date will be set with the idea that you will need some time at the start of the year to get to your Asian unit, but early enough that you will be able to place orders for library materials.

I will have forms for you to fill-out for your professional stipend. Please make sure to do so and to not leave without returning them to me.

The seminar will be back in Dauer Hall.
