Spring 2007

• April 19, 2007: International Human Rights In-Service

A teacher in-service focusing on defining human rights in the 21 st century, human rights issues in Asia, Latin America, and Africa, and techniques to talk about human rights in the classroom.

May 15, 2007 : Global Islam In-Service

A one-day teacher in-service that will explore Islamic culture and society from a global perspective.

Fall 2006

• November 9, 2006: Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy: American Tour, Reception and In-Service

The Asian Studies Program is delighted to co-sponsor with the Shodo Journal an exhibition of modern Japanese calligraphy at the Thomas Center in downtown Gainesville.

• November 29, 2006: Chinese Jade Exhibition In-Service

The Harn Museum will be hosting the exhibition "Spinach Green and Mutton-fat White: Chinese Jades of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) from September 05, 2006 - January 28, 2007.
